Acknowledging the work and love of all individuals and organisations.

Animal rescue & shelter

There was a time when humanity was just another characteristic of a person,  it used to be a normal thing . Now humanity is something very rare to find in a person . We speak about humanity as if it is as rare as hen’s teeth. Today this treatise is about animal cruelty and rescue.  It is to raise one’s hat to all the animal rescue organization and not only renowned organizations but also those individuals which have contributed even a little bit of help towards this noble cause .

Animals of every kind and type , some are wild some are not but that doesn’t make them a target to all this brutality and inhumane behavior.  They are equally important and worthy of all the love , care , respect and pampering we do to our loved ones . a small kitten or an old grown dog they are just like us . They also crave for never ending love and care . They keep us safe in their own way and they adore us in. Their own way . Let’s do the same for them . Give them shelter , food , love and care , which they deserve more than anyone else .

Animal rescuers work with wildlife or domesticated pets to heal injuries or find them new homes. The field has its stresses, such as seeing the results of animal abuse and abandonment, but the opportunity to save animals from danger or cruelty is gratifying.

We pay thousands and sometimes lakhs to buy our pets but what about those who were abandoned or lost and felt unwanted and then left on streets to rot  . ADOPT MORE BUY LESS.

There are n numbers of problems and day to day hurdles faced by individuals and organizations who are making a big difference or are trying to make a big difference . But they don’t give up, they keep on helping , they keep on making sure that they get shelter over their head , they get a family who will adore them and make themselves a part of their family. Across globe,  animals have been subjected to torture amd mistreatment at hands of humans far too many times to count and yet with little love , attention and care , these same animals again love humans with fierce dedication.

We apologize if we did not address or missed an individual or an organization here , but we respect all of them fully and are grateful for their work towards this noble cause.

1.   Blue cross of India

Blue Cross of India - NGO, Animal Rescue, Shelter & ABC-Rabies

It all started one rainy day in 1959 when the founder Captain Sundaram couldn’t just walk away from the two pups struggling to stay afloat in the flooded roads of T Nagar. He took them home and that gesture marked the beginning of Blue Cross, the animal shelter in his house which at one stage had 60 cats, dogs, goats, bandicoots and also a pair of baby mongooses!

With full-fledged support from his family (his wife Usha and the children built the first few kennels with their own hands), he was soon rescuing and sheltering animals in his T Nagar residence.

The initial people involved were Captain Sundaram: his wife Usha (who was recognised, in 2000, as “the first Indian woman in aerospace” by the National Aeronautics Association); and his three children, Suresh, Chinny Krishna and Vijayalakshmi. Initially, an informal group known as the Animal Aid Association, they were soon joined by Mr. D. Daivasigamony, then Secretary of the Indian Football Association.

The activities of the group slowly increased and the name of the group was changed to the Blue Cross of India in April 1964. A few months later, the Blue Cross of India was registered under the Societies Registration Act – No. 129 or 1964.

PETA India focuses primarily on the areas in which the greatest numbers of animals suffer the most: in laboratories, in the food industry, in the leather trade, and in the entertainment business. PETA India’s investigations, public education efforts, research, animal rescues, legislative work, special events, celebrity involvement, and national media coverage have resulted in countless improvements to the quality of life for animals and have saved countless animals’ lives.

All that while, they have been associated with a number of charity organizations that extend help to destitute children, the old, the blind and the weary animals. There are a few days in the year, when we are able to fully dedicate, celebrate and revel in the magnificence of our planet, our environment and the plethora of life that exists upon it. Along with this, these days are used as a platform to spread awareness on multiple issues that are harming the environment and causing life forms to suffer unnecessary pain.

●      Nature Walks and Outdoor Learning

In today’s fast moving Internet world, children, especially in urban settings, have limited opportunities to connect with the natural environment. We provide that bridge through our humane education programs, by including a nature walk to a forest in the vicinity of the school.
